Virtual Teacher Workshop |Exploring Afro-Latinidad through Portraiture
As we begin Hispanic Heritage Month, join the National Portrait Gallery for a discussion about Afro-Latinx identity through portraiture. What shapes the multifaceted Afro-Latinx experience, and how has Afro-Latinx culture impacted the United States? We will examine portraits that highlight the complexities of Afro-Latinidad and provide tools for using these portraits in the classroom to offer students a broader understanding of Latinx history and culture in the United States.
This workshop is intended for classroom teachers. The Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants 12- 24hours in advance of the program. The email will come from Eventbrite. Please only register for yourself. We will only be allowing participants into the meeting if their name (and email address) is on the registration list.
