Have you ever experienced the EUREKA effect? For those who don’t know what that is, its when you finally understand a concept or problem; some may refer to it as an epiphany. That is exactly how QB Crafts started! After completing my Accounting program in December of 2018, I knew it was time to officially start my life.
I always knew I wanted to start my own business, but I wasn’t sure exactly what said the business was. I knew my strongest assets were my creativity and my customer service, so it started with event planning and teaching myself how to stencil. On my search for different tools to help broaden my stenciling horizons, I found myself at Michael’s – a well-known arts and crafts store.
Walking through the aisles like a child in a candy store, one particular advertisement happened to catch my eye. It was for We R Memory Keepers’ Machine Candle Maker. Now I have always been big on candles and I love to have a variety of scents burning at the same time, but it had never crossed my mind that I could make my own!
I immediately went home, jumped on google, and researched all the possible ways to make candles at home. I had no intentions of actually making this is a business idea, it was more for my own benefit, but after seeing all the different creations I had made I figured “someone would love this!”. The idea sprouted from there and it continues to grow and blossom as I learn new things and take on new challenges.
